Is there anything more exciting than your number being the winner?
Not for Victoria! Who was delighted to receive the call informing her of the £250 win.
“No way! That’s fantastic news. I will be donating the money back to charity.”
The Rob George Foundation is a charity that helps young people to excel in sports and the performing arts. The Foundation was founded in loving memory of Rob George, who died aged 21 on 9th December 2013 following a long battle with leukaemia.
Victoria has been raising funds and supporting The Rob George Foundation since they launched in 2014. One of the key ways she supports is through make a smile lottery. A weekly lottery, that helps raise funds while giving players the opportunity to win cash prizes!
Much to the delight of everyone associated with The Rob George Foundation, Victoria was declared the £250 winner. When hearing the news of her win, it became clear that supporting them on a weekly basis wasn’t enough for her. As she made the generous decision to give it all back to The Rob George Foundation. So including Gift Aid the donation amounts to £300!
An extremely excited Victoria said: “I did not even give it a second thought that I would donate my winnings to The Rob George Foundation. The Foundation is very close to my heart and the support they give young people across the country is so inspiring and now more than ever, it seems that £300 to help a young person out there will go a lot further and provide so much more value and purpose than spending it on myself.”
The Rob George Foundation Trustee, David Cant said: “Such is Victoria’s generosity and passion to see the RGF succeed it came as no surprise to me that she donated her winnings to The Rob George Foundation. It is important for me to acknowledge that it is not a pre-requisite on any supporter winning any amount on the lottery to donate their winnings back to us, but Victoria’s gesture is greatly appreciated and valued, as is everything she does for The Rob George Foundation – thank you, Victoria.”
